Payment for M-Jannah and Darul Jenazah made easy with the latest online digital payment platform powered by kiplePay

Kuala Lumpur, 22 September 2020 - The online digital payment platform launching ceremony today witnessed an important collaboration among Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad (Bank Muamalat), Bumijez Sdn Bhd (Bumijez) and KiplePay Sdn Bhd (KiplePay) taking a step further by offering quality services with digitalisation approach for valued customers.

Gone are the days where consumers have to physically walk into a branch to enquire and gain access to banking services. To adhere to the new norm, both Bank Muamalat and Bumijez now support cashless payments of all types including KiplePay’s eWallet, online banking as well as credit and debit cards.

For this initiative, customers can enquire, apply and pay all transactions through Bumijez’s new online portal. Further driving the agenda, Bank Muamalat will be offering cashless payments for its M-Jannah product line throughout its 67 branches across Malaysia starting 22 September 2020. Customers just need to scan the QR code, select their preferred package and make payment in order to complete the application process.

Customers can now expect a more seamless experience with a shorter waiting time.

The launching ceremony this morning was officiated by Bank Muamalat’s Regional Manager (Central Region) Tuan Haji Anaruddin Abas, Chief Executive Officer of Bumijez Sdn Bhd Mr Abdul Halim bin Hamzah and Chief Executive Officer of KiplePay Sdn Bhd Mr Tan Kay Yen at Pusat Kreatif Kanak-Kanak Tuanku Bainun, Kuala Lumpur.

According to Tuan Haji Anaruddin, Bank Muamalat intends to further improve the quality of M-Jannah services for customers and the user experience is a very important factor.

“The use of technology should provide a quick and easy user experience so that M-Jannah customers can manage cashless funeral and it also encourages cashless transactions which is the latest trend in the community,” said Haji Anaruddin Abas.

Chief Executive Officer of Bumijez Sdn Bhd, Mr Abdul Halim bin Hamzah said, the experience during the Covid-19 pandemic gave the company the opportunity to explore a new way in marketing their services. The company is now focusing on developing a user-friendly system for its distribution channels and customers.

“The system enables our customer to check online their membership status, virtual cards and do their renewals at the comfort at their homes. KiplePay has been a great technology partner to complement our system in term of ease of payment. We hope with this strategic collaboration, we will be able to increase brand awareness and our sales as well as our renewal percentage rate,” said Abdul Halim.

Chief Executive Officer of KiplePay Sdn Bhd, Mr Tan Kay Yen said, driven by the development of a digital economy, it is very important for companies today to ride this wave by leveraging on the power of technology and incorporating them as part of their business DNA for greater economic efficiency.

“This is also in-line with our nation’s aspiration in transforming Malaysia into a cashless and digital-driven society,” said Tan Kay Yen.

The M-Jannah and Darul Jenazah services are Shariah-compliant 24-hour funeral service management offered by Bank Muamalat and Bumijez respectively. It aims to alleviate the burden of the heirs by offering counselling services, death documentation assistance and funeral services.

To participate in the programmes, customers need to register and contribute periodically to obtain the services and benefits offered.
