HONG KONG: Green Packet Bhd’s wholly owned subsidiary Kiple Media Sdn Bhd has signed a collaborative agreement with Asia Television Digital Media Sdn Bhd (ATV).
The deal with the wholly owned subsidiary of Co-Prosperity Holdings Ltd is to cooperate and form a joint venture to operate three digital free-to-air television channels in Malaysia. The partnership will see ATV investing HK$50mil (about RM26mil) into Kiple Media to operate the channels.
Green Packet and ATV will jointly operate the three channels which may air Chinese language movies, Chinese language general entertainment and home shopping.
“We are excited and honoured to be part of this synergistic collaboration with ATV. We are making significant commitments to improve the broadcasting television channels in Malaysia. The broadcast industry is in a unique position to usher in a new era of television.
Yu said the group needed new partnerships in driving its business and that it was a great effort to work with Green Packet.
“We believe this strategic alliance will become an integral part of our business. It will provide us the stepping stone into broadcasting of television channels in Malaysia. ATV and Green Packet will work hard to make this joint venture successful,” Yu said.
