Green is the new Gold: Green Packet achieves Gold EcoVadis Sustainability Rating

Green Packet Berhad has been awarded a Gold rating in the sustainability survey conducted by Ecovadis. This recognition places Green Packet amongst the top 5% of over 75,000 companies assessed in its industry in terms of sustainability performance.

“We are pleased that our intensive efforts in implementing Green Packet’s sustainability initiatives have been recognized. The Ecovadis Gold rating reaffirms that we are moving in the right direction and that we are succeeding in driving sustainable progress within the company,” said Ku Kok Peng, Group Chief Strategy Officer, Green Packet Berhad.

“We understand that our customers care deeply about sustainability and that effective Environmental, Social and Government (ESG) initiatives will be crucial for the future business. Thus, we strive to improve our performance next year and commit to our promise of becoming sustainable disruptors and strong, long-term business partners,” he added.

Green Packet achieved strong scores in all assessed areas, including environment, labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.

Ecovadis is a global provider of business sustainability ratings, evaluating companies according to a total of 21 criteria in the four main topic areas of environment, labour and human rights, fair business practices (ethics) and sustainable procurement. The rating methodology is based on international sustainability standards and initiatives, such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards, United Nations Global Compact and ISO 26000 standard (for social responsibility).

Green Packet’s newly established Governance, Sustainability, Risk and Compliance (GSRC) team will spearhead the Group’s future ESG roadmap and initiatives. Leveraging on the results of the 2021 Ecovadis assessment, the team will continue to improve its existing sustainability goals.
