Unified Connections
Green Packet Unified Mobility solutions provide intelligent connection management and mobile IP technology which support automatic network switching without interrupting IP-sensitive applications, like file download, VoIP and video streaming. Notebook computers or smart phones equipped with multiple wireless communications interfaces, e.g. GPRS, WCDMA and Wi-Fi, can always select the best available connections without customer interventions. This user-friendly unified wireless broadband technology can really make mobile internet service become widely prevalent.

Roaming Security
SONaccess incorporates IPsec-based VPN technology into mobile IP to secure the data transmitted via the open air interface. This security link will be kept intact while roaming across different networks. SONaccess also supports most of the major VPN solutions, like Cisco and Check Point. Enterprise users can choose to use their existing corporate VPN software instead of SONaccess built-in VPN. Third party VPNs can still be kept persistent while roaming.

Zero Configuration
Like mobile phones, SONaccess Unified Mobility service can be initiated by just inserting the SIM card into the mobile PC card. All system configurations can be retrieved from the SIM without tedious data entry steps by customers. The unified mobility service model is consistent with mobile phones and thus can be introduced with minimum overhead on customer service and support from mobile carriers.

One Account & One Billing
Mobile operators can reuse their existing authentication and accounting infrastructure, like HLR, to manage customer accounts and billing. SONaccess can work together with popular Authentication Servers like Funk Steel-Belted Radius to authenticate the subscriber via SS7- based subscriber database. This also benefits end users since they do not have to manage a list of user names and accounts when roaming between different types of networks.

Mobile Multi-Services
The fixed IP nature of Mobile IP brings a tremendous advantage to wireless carriers as they can utilize this important feature to deliver IPv6 services using IPv4 infrastructure. Green Packet provides mobile services like Location Based Service, Push-Multimedia, working groupware, and video conference. SDK is also available for third parties to develop even more applications to increase ARPU.

Location Based Service (LBS) – LBS provides a framework for the provision of personalized and localized value-added services in wireless networks. These services include pushing information relevant to a user’s current location and updating the information as the user moves to another location. LBS can typically be deployed at transportation hubs, exhibitions and trade shows.
Push-Multimedia – Information in the form of rich multimedia (music, video, voice and data) can be efficiently pushed to end users for instant and dynamic information exchange.
Working Groupware – The fixed IP address allocated to each user in a Mobile IP environment makes working group collaboration a snap to setup
