24 June 2010, Kuala Lumpur – Greenpacket, a leading developer of next generation mobile broadband and networking solutions, is Haier’s partner of choice to extend the wireless capabilities of its new range of notebooks which will be pre-installed with Greenpacket’s newly-released Interact Collabright application.
Built on Intel’s My WiFi Technology SDK, Interact Collabright is a next-generation application that allows users connected over a wireless personal area network (PAN) to share files, screens, internet connection and also chat with one another.

Haier will be using the customized version of Interact Collabright which comes with integrated WiFi management. The solution will be branded as Haier U-Link.

Haier is the world’s fourth largest household appliances manufacturer and global consumer electronics maker, and a growing brand in China’s competitive PC market. According to Lee, the signing of this deal with Haier, one of China’s best, will open up access for Greenpacket to enter into the high growth PC market in China. Shipment for notebooks alone is projected by iSuppli, a market research firm, to increase by 26% from last year. Lee is optimistic on closing more similar deals as Greenpacket is currently in advanced talks with other leading PC OEMs and ODMs.
“We hope to enable more PCs with the Interact Collabright application, we believe it’ll serve as a key differentiator for notebook manufacturers to boost their product offering in a highly competitive market,” he concluded.
