Kuala Lumpur, - Thursday, August 13, 2009: The Green Packet Group of Companies (The Group) today announced quarter two 2009 results that firmly reflect The Group’s projections of recovery in its revenue and business
The Group’s revenue has seen an increase of 36.1% from 41.5million to RM56.5million in Q2 2009 compared to Q1 2009. However, The Group sees a slight increase in its operational cost due to its investment in P1’s deployment plan and activities.
Mr. CC Puan, Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Green Packet said that the Group performance in Q2 2009 is on track with the business projection of achieving EBITDA positive by end 2009.
While speaking about the company’s global performance and its business projections for the second half of the year, Mr Puan said, “The Group Solutions pillar had secured 2 contracts during the first half of 2009 and we are expecting 2 other major deals during the second half.”
The Group’s WiMAX service provider arm, Packet One Networks (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd or “P1” had launched a new WiMAX modem with integrated WiFi card and a new package plan of RM 69 per month for its portable modem, Wiggy.
CC added, “We foresee that with these new packages by P1 that is catered for the different levels of internet users, we would be on track to achieve our 250,000 subscriber base by the end of 2009.”
Puan is confident that with these strong business strategies in place, the Group’s proven business model is on track with its 5 year business plan .
