Kuala Lumpur , 10 July 2009 – Green Packet Berhad (Greenpacket) a KLSE listed company and leading developer of WiMAX products, solutions and services, is fast establishing itself as the preferred partner in the global WiMAX space.
At recent WiMAX forums in Singapore, Taiwan, Amsterdam and Dubai, Greenpacket secured business opportunities with 64 Operators from 46 countries. The response received reaffirms that the Company has established a credible international reputation as a strong provider in WiMAX-related products and solutions.

To date, Greenpacket has entered into 44 WiMAX CPE (Customer Premise Equipment) trials with 15 operators in 36 countries, representing 25% of all countries tracked for WiMAX deployment. This includes a strategic partnership with Beceem Communications Inc (USA) to develop a portfolio of high-performance WiMAX USB dongles for the global WiMAX market.
Commenting further on Greenpacket’s global business traction, Puan said that the Company is on track to achieve 20% market share of all global CPE shipments which translates to approximately 570,000 units out of the 2.8 million units forecasted by the industry to be shipped globally in 2009.
In this year, Greenpacket added to its list of clients, Hong Kong’s largest telecommunications provider – PCCW; and Taiwan’s first WiMAX service provider - Tatung Infocomm Co., Ltd. Both had contracted Greenpacket to provide its popular Intouch Connection Management Platform (ICMP). The Company has also partnered with GCT Semiconductor (USA) to launch the world’s first single chipset for seamless roaming between WiFi and WiMAX testifying to its steadfast commitment to continuously enhance its innovative products and services.
