GREEN PACKET SURPASSES RM500 MILLION REVENUE MARK IN YEAR 2011

Shows positive EBIDTA in December 2011

Key Highlights:

  • Group revenue for fourth quarter was RM156 million – an increase of 34% YoY, the highest recorded revenue to date.
  • Group revenue for Year 2011 was RM540 million – an increase of 37% YoY.
  • P1 broadband business grew revenue in Year 2011 by 41% YoY maintaining strong ARPU of RM81.
  • Solutions pillar continues strong devices performance with 59% revenue growth YoY.

Bursa Malaysia Main Market listed Green Packet Berhad (“the Group”), today reported its fourth quarter financial results for 2011. The latest results show it had surpassed the half-a-billion million Ringgit mark in revenue, a new high of RM539.6 Million revenue for year 2011.

The Group had more good news to report as it achieved its first EBIDTA positive in December and narrowed its fourth quarter loss after tax to 4.5 sen per share compared to 13.1 sen per share for the same quarter of the previous year, attributed to a stronger subscriber growth trend, coverage area expansion and stringent cost control.

“Our Solutions pillar continues to be a strong contributor with its fourth consecutive profit after tax quarter, a 192% increase in software license sales year-on-year to 143,100 licenses and a 40% year-on-year increase in CPE shipment to 212,400,” said Mr. Puan Chan Cheong, Group Chief Executive Officer and Group Managing Director of the Group. “We scored a number of wins with major telecommunications players globally; delivering the Intouch Connectivity Experience to enable Mobile IP TV service for Telefonica, Spain’s largest telecommunication operator, launching Intouch WiFi Experience Management for Time Warner Cable and offering Intouch Seamless Data Offload to provide a converged 3G-WiFi experience for Smart Communications Inc., Philippines. In addition, we have carved a market share leadership for being the world’s 3rd largest supplier of WiMAX CPEs and, continuing with this success, have recorded a number of major deals for our device sales. This includes several of our largest orders to date, by renowned operators like Wateen Telecom of Pakistan, global operators like the Wi-Tribe group with presence in the Philippines, Jordan and Pakistan, as well as well known WiMAX operators like Clearwire in Spain.
