First Revenue Share Model and Second Telco Win in China

Kuala Lumpur, 21 November 2006 ¨C Green Packet Berhad, via its wholly-owned subsidiary Green Packet (Shanghai) Ltd, has entered into a collaboration with Chinese telecommunications giant China United Telecommunication Corporation Shanghai Branch (Shanghai Unicom) to offer Internet Protocol Voice services.

Under the collaboration, Green Packet will integrate its SONaccess and SONmobile products with the Internet Protocol Voice (IP Voice) service of Unicom. This will enable Green Packet to tap into the vast IP voice market in China via the existing subscribers of Shanghai Unicom and other broadband users.

All users will enjoy state of the art internet telephony via embedded softphone facilities and unified access for all voice, data and video applications across the different telecommunication networks in China.

¡°This collaboration will enable IP Voice subscribers to dial IP phone as soon as they access the Internet,¡± said Green Packet¡¯s Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Puan Chan Cheong.

¡°This is the first revenue share model that we have in China and the second collaboration with a telecommunication operator in China after China Telecom Corporation Limited. We expect to tap into Unicom¡¯s 2 million mobile data card users market immediately for Unicom¡¯s users and also penetrate into the broadband market in China,¡± Puan added.

Being the dominant solution provider offering advanced mobile Internet Protocol solution in the Asia region, Green Packet has successfully teamed up with Zhejiang Telecom Company Ltd, Guangdong Telecom Company Ltd, Jiangsu Telecom Company Ltd, Sichuan Telecom Company Ltd and Hunan Telecom Company Ltd, over the past two-years to offer Wireless E-communication¡± in the five provinces.

¡°We are excited about the prospects given the immense subscriber base of Unicom and Shanghai is used as our launch-pad to offer our solutions to Unicom¡¯s other provinces,¡± Puan said.

SONaccess and SONmobile, which utilizes a ¡°always-on¡±, ¡°secured¡±, ¡°seamless roaming¡± platform, will facilitate roaming across Asymmetrical Digital Subscriber Line, WLAN, CDMA and PHS networks at broadband speeds irrespective of the locations and the underlying networks.
