Mobile wireless kit offers convenience, mobility and multi-functional tools for users to network without a network

Kuala Lumpur, September 8, 2006 每 Green Packet (MESDAQ: ※GPACKET§) today unveiled SONbuddy Wireless Network in a Box (WNIAB), a multi-functional mobile wireless kit that is portable, convenient and equipped with multiple collaborative features. The WNIAB is a product extension of Green Packet*s SONbuddy solution which offers the simplest method for mobile workers, home users and students to network and interact with each other.

SONbuddy offers mobile users the power and freedom to form instant and private peer-to-multi-peer networking communities, and to stay securely connected regardless of the nature and availability of network infrastructure.

It facilitates the formation of a multi-hop mobile wireless mesh network by connecting every network user*s device together to form a spontaneous Self Organizing Network (SON). These SONbuddy enabled devices can route each other*s data intelligently, robustly and securely to allow these devices to connect even if no infrastructure network is accessible. The rich built-in applications enable the exchange of information and resources sharing without the use of an access point or a router.

Convenient. Mobile. Multi-purpose

SONbuddy WNIAB allows users to setup an instant secure wireless network in three simple steps 每 install WLAN adapter driver and SONbuddy software in a device such as laptop or PDA, connect the device to the Internet and finally, install SONbuddy on other devices. With auto discovery and mesh network capabilities, users will be able to discover, connect and collaborate with other users instantaneously.

The SONbuddy WNIAB comes with rich features such as instant messenger, voice over IP, chat room, Internet access sharing, files and hardware peripherals sharing, screen sharing and virtual whiteboard. With peer to peer VPN (Virtual Private Network) and 128bit AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) technology, users can rest assured that their data is protected at all times. In addition, SONbuddy also acts as a multiplayer gaming platform for users to enjoy network games with those in the same network.

A key feature of the SONbuddy WNIAB is its capability to make offline collaboration easy. Kelvin Lee, General Manager at Green Packet says, ※SONbuddy helps users work smarter, not just harder. This feature adds value to the users with its ability to network without a network 每 when there is no network infrastructure available to the users. This helps greatly when users are not connected to the Internet.§

※With this compact solution, users will be able to share information, conduct meetings and manage projects regardless of their physical location. Users can collaborate more effectively and be ensured of maximum security and minimum administrative efforts,§ said Lee.

SONbuddy WNIAB is now available nationwide at RM288 and can be obtained through eGal Corporation Sdn Bhd. This ready-to-network package comes with a wireless LAN 802.11g USB dongle, headset, five license keys and a user guide. In conjunction with Sunway Digital Bargain Fair held from September 8 每 10 in Sunway Pyramid, the product is priced at a promotional price of RM188 till end of September 2006.
