Company Continues to Attract Global Institutional Investors


KUALA LUMPUR, 4 July 2006 - Green Packet Berhad, the company with the highest market capitalization on the Mesdaq market, today announced that Legg Mason Inc. has acquired 12 million Green Packet shares.
The shares, acquired from various investors, including a block of 6.99 million shares from Puan Chan Cheong, on 3 July 2006 were via off-market transactions. The shares were transacted at RM2.625 per share.

Legg Mason, which is headquartered in Baltimore, is a global asset management firm with over US$850 billion in assets under management around the world. Legg Mason is ranked among the worlds largest asset managers and is the fifth largest manager of mutual funds in the US. Legg Mason takes a disciplined, long-term view with a goal to deliver consistently superior investment performance over time - through all economic and market environments.

He said the aim of the placement was to enhance the liquidity of Green Packets shares, as well as to attract greater participation of reputable institutional funds.

Green Packet has numerous institutional investors both local and global including substantial institutional investors Fidelity Investments of US and OSK Ventures International Berhad.
