Intel Outstanding Solution Provider Award
Kuala Lumpur, October 28, 2004-Green Packet was awarded the Outstanding Solution Provider Award for Education in the Asia-Pacific by Intel. The award was presented to Green Packet's Chief Executive Officer, CC Puan at the event's Gala Dinner & Award Presentation ceremony held during Intel's Asia-Pacific Solution Provider Executive Summit 2004.
The award was presented to Green Packet to recognize the company's contribution and participation in Intel's Mobile Initiative for Learning in Education (MILE) Program. The purpose of the MILE Program is to accelerate the adoption of mobile & wireless technologies through enhancements in the learning curriculum throughout higher education institutions across the Asia Pacific region. Green Packet is playing an instrumental role in Intel's MILE program via the bundling of SONbuddyTM in Intel's Centrino notebooks.
Green Packet's SONbuddy is a wireless communication software, which enables Wi-Fi devices to build an instant network with or without any access point or infrastructure for this award. SONbuddy, extends a device's Wi-Fi range, creates a secure network with VPN, enables Internet sharing, cost-saving VoIP calls, file-exchange with peers, instant messaging and multi-player gaming.
"This recognition from Intel strengthens our commitment to promote collaborative computing in universities and campuses in the Asia-Pacific region," said Puan. He continued by saying, "This is a double joy, as we had just won the MSC-APICTA award for Best Communications Applications Category"Green Packet has worked in synergy with Intel on the MILE program since early 2004 and holistic efforts are still being made by both parties to continue the success and pervasiveness of this program within the region.
