Safety And Health Officer
Responsibilities:

To inspect the place of work to determine whether any machinery, plant, equipment, substance, appliance or process or any description of manual labour used in the place of work, is of such nature liable to cause bodily injury to any person working in the place of work. |

To advise and ensure the employer or any person in charge of a place of work on the measures to be taken in the interests of the Safety & Health of the persons employed in the place of work. |
°
|
To investigate any accident, near-miss accident, dangerous occurrence, occupational poisoning or occupational disease which has happened in the place of work. |
°
|
To ensure any officer in carrying out his duty under the Act or any regulations made under the Act or regulations (OSHA Act). |
°
|
To ensure the Safety & Health committee in any inspection of the place of work for the purpose of checking the effectiveness and efficacy of any measures taken in compliance with the Act or any regulations made under the Act (OSHA Act). |
°
|
To coordinate industrial accidents and safety programs. |
°
|
To conduct daily safety inspection at the job site and submission of report. |
°
|
To ensure work place safety compliance and effectiveness. |
°
|
To provide training and guideline on safety and health. |
°
|
To carry out any other instruction made by the employer or any person in charge of the place of work on any matters pertaining to Safety & Health of the place of work. |
Requirements:

The Safety and Health Officers must fit to the requirements under the OSHA Act, amongst other they must have completed a course of training in occupational safety and health and passed the examination conducted by National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), Ministry of Human Resource. |
° |
Recognized as a Safety & Health Officer with DOSH / JKKP. |
° |
Possess a minimum of 5 years experience in occupational safety and health, whether on construction, manufacturing, telecommunication and etc. |
° |
Well versed and knowledgeable in a statutory requirements of safety & health issues and able to operate and handle all forms of industry safety equipment. |
° |
Able to plan, implement and execute all safety and health rules and regulations successfully. |
