Linux Engineer
Responsibilities:

Support and maintain Unix and Linux servers |
° |
Install software, apply patches, manage file systems, monitor performance and troubleshoot alerts from commercial, open source and locally developed monitoring tools |
° |
Hardware/software configuration and management |
° |
Provide 2nd Level technical support and general troubleshooting to resolve any unexpected application or system behavior |

Liaison with users, operations personnel and systems owner and interact with all parties to negotiate solutions and implementation specifics |
|
Manage and lead hardware and software migration and upgrade efforts of varying size and complexity |
|
To recommend improvements to facilitate better management and monitoring of the environment |
|
Business continuity planning |
Requirements:

Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma or Professional Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering (Computer/Telecommunication) or equivalent |
° |
Professional experiences of at least 3-5 years, preferably from telecommunications or ISP industries |
° |
Administration experiences in hardware platform (server, OS, database, storage, backup) for telecommunications applications are strongly encouraged |
° |
Candidate must possess HP-UX System & Network Administration (SNA I – II) |
° |
Good knowledge in other flavor of UNIX (AIX, Solaris, etc) is an added advantage |
°
| Good knowledge in Microsoft Windows and/or Linux operating systems is an added advantage |
°
| Possess relevant professional certification is an added advantage |
°
| Comfortable to work with minimal supervision and have the ability to work in a team environment |
°
| Good communication skills as well as good interpersonal skills |
°
| Immediate availability would be an advantage |
