Database Administrator (MSSQL)
Responsibilities:

Administer and maintain the database management system under the care of Infrastructure IT Office |
° |
Ensure the compatibility and efficiency of database applications through ongoing system monitoring and evaluation |
° |
Configuring and implementing databases in support of the existing and new project implementations |
° |
Developing and implementing procedures that ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of data stored in the database |
° |
Developing and implementing database security procedures, including access and user account management |
° |
Provides technical expertise on database management systems to clients, management, and IT personnel |
° |
Performing and coordinating changes to the database, including the deletion, addition and modification of records |
° |
Maintaining configuration control of the database |
° |
Developing and coordinating back-up and disaster recovery procedures. Mediating and resolving conflicts among users' needs for data, customizing data base conversion routines |
° |
Defining database migration strategy from SQL to Oracle database as and when required |

Requirements:

Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma or Professional Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering (Computer/Telecommunication) or equivalent |
° |
Professional experiences of at least 3 - 5 years, preferably from telecommunications or ISP industries |
° |
Administration experiences in hardware platform (server, OS, database, storage, backup) for telecommunications applications are strongly encouraged |
° |
Preferred experiences with Microsoft Windows Server operating systems |
° |
Experiences with Unix operating systems will be an added advantage |
° |
Good knowledge in Database (MSSQL) is a must |
° |
Good knowledge in other Databases such as Oracle, DB2, MySQL is an added advantage |
° |
Possess relevant professional certification is an added advantage |
° |
Comfortable to work with minimal supervision and have the ability to work in a team environment |
° |
Good communication skills as well as good interpersonal skills |
° |
Immediate availability would be an advantage |
